Notes About this Topic

If your exam includes a math section, you need to refresh yourself on how to do word problems, time-distance problems, fractions, ratios, etc. The math skills required are usually at the 8th grade level – pretty easy! Calculators are rarely needed or allowed in the testing room. Nowadays, fewer and fewer departments are including math on their entrance exams. Be sure to check with your specific agency.
